Went to Green Bay over the weekend.
Did a little running while I was there.
Great course.
Great weather.
Great crowds.
Drive was a bit long!
Last Thursday was the TC 1 Mile.
So, it was a tough race on Sunday!

Ran the Get in Gear 10k on Saturday.
Could have been worse.
It snowed a couple of years ago!
So the bit of rain we had this year wasn't too bad.

Dear Roger Ebert.
Might I also remind you of another great artist.
A man who made a famous statement concerning distinguished
elders and the reckless denials they make.
Maybe you've heard of him.

When a distinguished but elderly scientist states that something is possible, he is almost certainly right. When he states that something is impossible, he is very probably wrong. Arthur C. Clarke - Profiles of the Future (1962)

Just so he doesn't think I forgot.
And I didn't, I assure you.
On this very day.
April 20th, 1979.
The current President, Jimmy Carter, was attacked.
By a bunny rabbit.
Well, that's no ordinary rabbit.
That's the most foul, cruel, and bad-tempered rodent you ever set eyes on!

Ran the Human Race.
After focusing on skiing all winter, I don't have any speed.
As shown by the 45 second slip from two years ago.
It was a fun race!
The Get in Gear is on the 24th of next month.
Hope I'm in shape for that!

235 years ago on this day Patrick Henry gave a speech.
The reason he gave the speech?
The British were amassing an army on our shores.
They were amassing an army because Americans were protesting.
The form of the protest was the Boston Tea Party.

Shall we gather strength by irresolution and inaction? Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance, by lying supinely on our backs, and hugging the delusive phantom of hope, until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot? Patrick Henry - March 23, 1775

The Birkie is done.
Wow.
That's rough.
Spent the next day laying on the couch watching movies.
Not because I needed to.
But it seemed like a good excuse!

Welcome to 2010.
Good luck!
Like rats fleeing a sinking ship.
We already know they didn't do any good.
We know we shouldn't trust their promises.
Where are all the jobs that were created?
Even this guy knows this wasn' a good idea.

I've been saying it for years.
And now the truth comes out.
Just another attempt to take a bit more control away.
Bit sad really.
All this effort could have been going to useful ends.
Stay tuned for my new book:

You're just realizing this now?
Really.
I thought everything was going fine.
Here's a simple solution to your problem.

So.
Health care.
That should be easy to do.
Boston seems to be doing fine.
Not like giving away money.
Or cars.

Please explain this to me.
Why are we funding China?
I mean, it's not like we're not spending enough domestically.
Tilting at green windmills.
Following Spain's example doesn't seem like a good idea.

My efforts have paid off
I have received confirmation that I have Corral B spot at the Chicago marathon.
Now, it's just a simple matter of running.
And by running, I mean lots of running.
And by lots of running, I mean peaking at around 70 miles per week.
Let me break that down for you.
That's ten (10) miles a day.

Welcome to the new design!
I finally had some time this weekend to update the .css
As a result, it looks like this!
I ran a little race over the weekend.
Managed to place 22nd at the Get in Gear inaugural 1/2 marathon!
Which should qualify me for a Corral B spot at the Chicago marathon.
So this work out splendidly for everyone.

This isn't a new problem.

The budget should be balanced, the treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest Rome become bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance. Cicero - 55 BC

This is what happens when taxes go up.
When government power rises unchecked.

You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."
